On Thursday the Lady Rocket basketball team was at home for their last game of the regular season against rival Mulvane, on what was also Senior Night. The Rockets were coming off of a loss at Andale and were looking to get a win over the Wildcats, who they had beaten earlier in the season. The Rockets came out with lots of energy and immediately jumped ahead as they led 17-6 after the first period. They wouldn’t look back from there. They would take a commanding 36-15 lead going into halftime. The second half was much of the same story as the Rockets dominated the game and cruised to a victory over their rivals in their last game of the season before the sub-state tournament. The final score would end up being 61-28.

The Rockets were coming off of perhaps their best win of the season against Andale on Tuesday and were looking to carry that momentum into Thursday’s game against their rival Mulvane. Both teams would come out scoring a lot, but the Rockets fell behind by three after the first period. Going into halftime the Rockets would trail the Wildcats by six. In the second half the Rockets struggled to rebound and sent Mulvane to the foul line a lot, as the Wildcats converted 28 of 39 free throws during the game while the Rockets only shot 12 free throws the entire game converting on 9 of the tries. With that the Rockets struggled to come back and would fall to Mulvane 63-53 in the final regular season game. Their next game will be their first sub-state game and it will be at home next week.
