Comeback Victory For The Rockets

Last Friday, the Rocket Football team traveled to Wellington to go head to head against the Crusaders. With their last game won on home turf, the Rockets were ready to bring it to them. In the first quarter, both teams battled ferociously up and down the field hoping to be the first on the scoreboard. The Crusaders got the early upper hand with a touchdown run and succesful kick attempt. Neither team scored for the rest of the quarter. For the second quarter, the Crusaders would score their second touchdown to bring the score to 0-14. The Rockets were not ready to back down and came back with their first TD of the night with a 10-yard run by Spencer Nolan. With a successful PAT, the Rocket’s deficit was cut in half. Rose Hill would break even with Wellington with a second touchdown scored by Bryce Bischler on a pass from Bryson Evans. Halftime rolled in and the Rockets were tied with the Crusaders 14-14. As the third quarter arrived, the Rockets took the lead with a 25-yard pass from Evans to Bischler to bring the score to 20-14. The two teams did not manage to score another touchdown for the rest of the quarter. As the fourth quarter began, the Rockets were determined to expand their lead. That’s just what they did with a TD pass to Trevor Kiser and the following two-point conversion. With the Rockets score now double their opponents, the Crusaders would score one last touchdown to finalize the score at 28-20 Rockets. With the Rockets finding their rhythm, they are confident for their next game at home against the Mulvane Wildcats this Friday.

Rough Weekend For Ladies

Last weekend, the Lady Rockets traveled to Andover High School for the Andover Tournament. The Varsity Girls three opponents were the Derby Panthers, Andover Trojans, and the Kapaun Crusaders. As the first set began, the Lady Rockets defended the court fiercely but were overtaken 13-25. To even things out, the Rockets took set two 25-29. Both sides fought hard for the victory but the Panthers barely came out with the win, 20-25. The next set was against the Lady Trojans. Andover would take set 1 with a score of 18-25. However, the Rockets would come back to claim set two 25-23. Unfortunately, the Rockets were beaten again with a neck and neck score of 22-25. Lastly, the Rockets would face off against Kapuan High School. The levels of intensity were very even but the Crusaders would take set one 19-25. They would do the same for set two to beat the Rockets in straight sets, 21-25. With their heads held high, the Rockets must be ready for the next match in Clearwater on Tuesday.
