The Rose Hill Boys Soccer team traveled to Winfield on Tuesday for a match against the Vikings. With this being their second time meeting, the Rockets were eager to put some points on the board. In the first half, only 6 minutes in, Senior Drew Leck scored the first goal unassisted to give the Rockets an early 1-0 lead. However, this would be the only goal scored for the rest of the half as both teams went head to head. The second half would be a continuation of the scoreless back and forth attempts from both sides. The Rocket Boys were victorious with a final score of 1-0 against Winfield. The Rockets improved their record to 10-1-1 and will now prepare for their next matchup on Thursday when they will travel to Independence to take on the Bulldogs.

On Tuesday, the Lady Rockets Volleyball team ventured to Clearwater to compete against the Bullpups and Indians. First off to play the Rockets was McPherson. In set one, the girls were beaten 14-25. Coming back in the second set were the Lady Rockets for a close victory 26-24. The girls battled the Bullpups, prying for a lead, but were unfortunately defeated 12-25. Not to be discouraged, they prepared for game 2 against the Lady Indians. The first set began and both teams showed even intensity as the scoreboard jumped higher and higher. In a very close ending, the Rockets lost set one 24-26. In set two, history would repeat itself with back and forth scoring from each side. The Rockets would fight gloriously but came up short by 3 points with a score of 22-25. The girls gave tremendous effort and will prepare to give it their all next Tuesday at Mulvane.
