Rockets Dominate Mulvane

On Tuesday, the Rockets played the Mulvane Wildcats at home for their senior night.  The seniors for the Rockets are Joshua Fisher, David Lopez, Zander Arheart, and Jamie Gracia.  The Rockets started off against a strong wind with possession on kickoff.  In the 19th minute Teagan Cobb started off the night with the first goal, followed by Scotty Carr’s goal in the 37th minute, and Luke Anderson’s in the 40th minute with 23 second to go in the first half.  The Wildcats started the second half with the kickoff, but were quickly beaten back by Daylin Jantzen’s goal in the 44th minute.  In the 57th minute Andruw Weeks was fouled in the box giving the Rockets a penalty kick.  Zander Arheart took the penalty kick and made the score 5-0 with 23 minutes left to go in the game.  The Rockets ended the night winning 7-0 against the Wildcats with Andruw Weeks getting a goal in the 60th minute and Daylin Jantzen getting another goal in the 62nd minute.  The Rockets will now move on to their first regional tournament game next week with the location and time to be determined.

Senior Night Split

The Rockets hosted their final home game of the 2021 season on Tuesday.  They hosted El Dorado and Circle for their senior night. For the first game of the night the Rockets played the El Dorado Wildcats. In the first set of the game the Rockets won 25-17 and in the second set of the game the Rockets won again 27-25. In between the games the girls had their senior night celebration where they honored Mia Kuehn, Jillian Rockley, Barbora Davidia, Emily Wellenstein, and Sydney Lakous. After coming back from the emotional celebration, the Rockets were to face off against the Circle Thunderbirds. In the first set of the game the Rockets lost 8-25 and in the second they lost 22-25. The Lady Rockets will travel to Andale on Saturday for the substate tournament, which gets underway at 1:00 pm. The first matchup for the Lady Rockets will be against St. George-Rock Creek.
