Rockets Drop Homecoming Game

The Rockets faced the Wellington Crusaders Friday night in the Homecoming game.  The Rockets battled back and forth against the Crusaders the entire game. The Crusaders scored first but the kick was no good.  The Rockets answered that with a 3-yard run for a touchdown by Lane Gardner but the 2-point conversion was no good.  In the 3rd quarter the Crusaders got another touchdown to go up on the rockets 13-6.  Late in the 4th quarter the Rockets answered Wellington with another touchdown.  Unfortunately, the 2-point conversion was again no good leaving the Rockets down 13-12. The Rockets were able to force a quick punt from the Crusaders but Rocket offense could not score again and turned the ball over on downs. Wellington then ran out the clock. The Rockets will continue working and prepare to travel to Mulvane this Friday for a matchup against the Wildcats.
