Rocket Girls Place At State

The Lady Rockets wrestling team traveled to Salina this past Wednesday and Thursday and did well. Both wrestlers that qualified for the Rockets made it onto the medal stand with Junior Ryleigh Page placing 6th overall at 110 lbs. and scoring 11 team points in her first year of wrestling, and Payton Sholander placing 6th as well at 190 lbs. scoring 12 team points overall. Page went 3-3 in the tournament with 2 falls and Sholander did almost the same thing going 3-3 in the tournament as well with 3 falls. Both wrestlers would start off winning 3 of their first 4 matches but both would lose in the Consolation Semifinals that would send them each into a match for 5th place. Both would lose this 5th place match though with Page losing by decision and Sholander losing by fall. Congratulations to both Page and Sholander for bringing home a state medal!
