Rockets Lose Tough Game
The Rockets traveled to Andale on Tuesday for the first round of the Substate Tournament. The first quarter would see the Rockets down 12-8 in a quarter that went by very quickly. The second quarter would see the Rockets creep back and briefly take a 21-19 lead; however, the Indians regained the lead by halftime 23-22. The third quarter would see the Indians increase their lead in a quarter that the Rockets badly needed; the Rockets were outscored 12-9 in the quarter making it 35-31 to end the third. The fourth quarter would be the Rockets last chance to mount a comeback and pull off the upset, but they could never get the offense clicking, in a quarter that seemed like the ball was constantly on the Indian’s side of the court. The Rockets would get outscored 20-13 resulting in the final score of 55-44. The Rocket’s top scorer would be senior Kellan Simoneau with 21 points in his final game as a Rocket. Simoneau would be the only Rocket to have double-digit points with the next closest being Jace Evans having 8 points. In Coach Welch’s first season as the boys head coach, the Rockets finish the season with a winning record of 11-10.
