The Rocket Girls’ Golf team finished the season by sending two golfers to state. One of the golfers graduated, and one is a returning senior this year. They will have four returners this season, including Hannah Reeves, Willow Rasico, Melanie Cook, and Raelynn Gash. Reeves is a key returner for them, as she qualified for the KSHSAA State Tournament last season.
Hesston will be a major tournament at the beginning of the year. It’s a difficult regional course that will prepare them for the state tournament in Salina. The Rockets' home JV tournament is on Tuesday, September 29th, will be a major tournament for them. It will be the first junior varsity tournament we have hosted in program history. It is a key step as they work to grow their team.
“Our goals are to grow numbers, we should have 10 girls, which is up from five last year, host a tournament, and send at least one girl back to state,” Head Coach Phillip VanHorn said. The first Varsity tournament will be on August 31st at 3:00pm. It is being hosted by Derby.
