The Lady Rockets Golf Team went to Hesston for their first golf tournament of the season this past Thursday, September 3rd. The Rockets battled hard against 14 other teams, taking fifth overall. The Rockets' best golfers were Raelynn Gash and Hannah Reeves, both shooting a 101 and tying for 11th place.
“Considering the heat, the difficulty of the course, and the number of practices we've had to cancel or reduce per heat, I was thrilled with our first performance. We finished 5th with two girls 1 shot out of placing, and I can count 6-8 shots that I think each girl will get back once we're in mid-season form. I'm thrilled. We're all on the same page about what skill we need to perfect. Now, it’s time to get to work.” Coach VanHorn spoke about their performance.
The Rockets will compete next, at the Andover Central tournament on September 8th. The tournament will be at the Sierra Hills Golf Course. The tournament is currently set to begin at 2:00pm.
