The Lady Rockets Golf Team went to Derby to compete in their third golf tournament of the season this past Thursday, September 10th. The Rockets' best golfers were Senior Hannah Reeves tying for second and Junior Raelynn Gash tying for seventh. The Rockets as a team played well taking fourth overall, beating out three other big teams including Derby, Campus and Maize.
“I was so proud of our girls,” said head coach Phil Van Horn. “Five of the girls were in the top 10 at some point during the day, and we ended up medaling two in the top 8, including Hannah with a runner-up 40 finish. Shot of the day was Aria Woods who hit the ball over a sand trap, landed it on the green, lasered at the flag, bang, knocked it dead cold a few inches from the cup. Giddy Up!” Coach VanHorn spoke about the Lady Rockets performance.
The ladies will play again on Monday September 14th in the Wellington Invitational. We can't wait to see how they play.
