The Rocket football team won their home opener with a dominant 51-0 win over the Clearwater Indians. The Rockets' defense shut out the Indians in an impressive fashion. Linebacker Clayton Spaulding had a first-quarter pick-six to put the Rockets up 21-0. “It was exciting for the defense to get a shutout in a very businessman-like approach,” said head coach Reece Petty before praising his offense as well. “We had a lot of big plays on offense, and we were able to spread it out to multiple playmakers.”

The Rockets' offense had six touchdowns, with four coming from quarterback Isaac Hill. Hill had two rushing touchdowns and two passing touchdowns to Andrew Poss and Brayson Mohr. Running back Kai Kirchhoff-Jones added two more touchdowns for the Rockets. The Rockets hope to carry this momentum over into next week's home game against the Collegiate Spartans. The Spartans enter Friday’s game with a 1-1 record coming off a 33-13 loss to Wellington.
