Today, the Lady Rocket Golf team heads to Cherry Oaks Golf Course for the Cheney Invitational. Last year at the Cheney Invitational, the Lady Rockets placed sixth, with Senior Hannah Reeves leading the way with a 91, tying for third place. Junior Raelynn Gash shot a 112, which placed her at T28. The only ranked key player from the other teams in this tournament is Elizabeth Hosford from Hesston, who is ranked number 67.
“Cheney will be our last real test before league and regionals,” said head coach Phil Van Horn. It's a state-caliber course, which will challenge us near the level of Turkey Creek, the state course. We are currently ranked in a position state-wide where we would qualify as a team, and several of the teams seeded right below us will be at Cheney today. Hopefully we can score well enough to distance ourselves from them.”
