The Lady Rockets Golf Team went to Wellington Golf Club to play in their final regular-season tournament of the season, the regional tournament. The Rockets shot a 445 as a team and sent two golfers to state. Those golfers were Senior Hannah Reeves and Junior Raelynn Gash.
“We were a girl down today since the flu or COVID or something hit the girls this weekend,” said head coach Phil Van Horn. “We had a really good chance based on our season average and last week's league meet, also at Wellington, to place. The conditions were tough with the major wind. Hannah was on life support all day, but she never had a blow-up hole, which helped her gain a big margin and easily qualify. Raelynn had about seven amazing holes, and seven holes she probably hopes to forget. She was all over the place, and literally qualified with the very last spot. Great day for Rocket golf. Hardest region, and we got two girls to state.”
The State Tournament is next week on October 19th and 20th!
