The Lady Rockets Golf Team went to Turkey Creek Golf Course to play in their final tournament of the season, the state tournament. The golfers who played in the state tournament were Senior Hannah Reeves and Junior Raelynn Gash. Hannah Reeves shot a 97 tying for 57th, while Raelynn Gash shot a 103 and tied for 71st place. “Obviously, I wish we'd have had a girl make day two, especially Hannah since she's a senior,” said head coach Phil Van Horn. “That's hard to do with multiple penalty strokes, but both girls were in contention for day 2 until the final few holes. When Mr. Mangus hired me for the job, his direction was simple: ‘Grow the program.’ So looking back, everything the girls accomplished this year was a bonus. Our numbers basically tripled, we brought fundraiser money into the program, we had a girl medal at every meet, we won a tournament as a team, placed 2 at league, and sent a pair to state. It was a great year to be a part of Rocket golf and I'm blessed I got to coach it!” Congrats to all the girls on the team for a great season!
